In light of health and safety guidelines and restrictions for summer 2020, CBK has restructured summer programs after significant information-gathering from families. It was very clear that an online option is not something families desire after finishing the school year online. CBK will make every effort within responsible decision-making to offer in-person programming that is comprised of smaller groups and shorter time windows in collaboration with a Boulder hotelier to manage social distancing requirements and other health advisories. CBK continues to closely monitor CDC and NIH guidelines, epidemiological studies regarding COVID-19 and youth, and government expectations and restrictions as the country begins to reopen. We cannot guarantee that these programs will run, but are hopeful that July provides the small window where we believe there is a possibility that these modified programs can run effectively and with the health and safety of all of our families and staff in the forefront of all decisions. It is simply too soon to cancel without further guidance and movement in the responses by the medical and governmental communities.
CBK SUMMER 2020 DECISION-MAKING DETAILS
For families who were registered for SHINE, students may be reenrolled in CBK Flux.
For families who were registered for The Luminary Project, students may be reenrolled in CBK Fusion.
For families who were registered for GLOW, students may be reenrolled in either Flux or Fusion based on age. Prerequisites for Luminary courses have been relaxed and instructors will manage ability levels on site.
1) CBK GLOW is effectively canceled for summer 2020 given current health recommendations and forecasting. It would not be responsible to try to hold a June program and planning has already been compromised as we are deep into our summer startup window. HOWEVER, we have some very good options for GLOW families:
2) We have renamed our two summer programs for 2020 as an acknowledgement that these programs must be a bit different and also to recognize that CBK GLOW must be redistributed into those programs. Look up the names' meanings, as they are of course based in energy and we think they are quite indicative of what's happening! We will run two summer programs - one for our older students and one for younger. Age groups for GLOW already were embedded in both SHINE and Luminary, so there is no difference in age ranges.
3) Programs will be held in July, as that appears to be the safest window for these smaller events.
4) Programs must be shortened to manage costs, offer the most effective programming possible, fit into hoteliers models, and to feel safest in duration and sanest for our staff in this compressed summer model.

REREGISTRATION - DEADLINE MONDAY, MAY 11
Current families received a separate email that directed you to reregister for summer. We know there are changes here, and please understand that we are doing our best to preserve both the integrity of our programs and what we can offer as well as match as closely as possible given safety recommendations the timelines you had in place. We also recognize that this way forward may not be a fit for your family. We hope we have found a model that works for most of you. If not, upon reregistration, your first option is to withdraw. Based on our projections, both programs will be able to and must be held at next phase small-group gathering numbers of no more than 50. It is possible that FUSION could close to registration, so please act in a timely manner.
COURSE SELECTION
For most of you who were in Luminary, you will simply be confirming the course that you have been assigned to and received an email to hold your seat. If you were moved to another course, it is because registration for that class is and likely will remain full or the class canceled back in earlier spring. We will review registrations once this phase has ended and any waitlisted spots will be offered only at that time.
For GLOW families, you will make your new course selections just as you initially did back at application.
SHINE families also have the option to shift course selections based upon new descriptions.
REMINDERS
Once again, thank you for your dedication to CBK Summer Programs. Despite what may be relief and excitement, there is still a possibility that programs could cancel. We will not run the programs above if it is not determined to be as safe as possible. Please do not make any payments and do not worry about the acceptance paperwork deadline.
Once again, we are dreaming of spending some time, even if it is shorter, in Boulder with you.
