Description:

The Summer Institute for the Gifted, founded in 1984, is a program of the National Society for the Gifted and Talented (NSGT), a 501(c)(3) organization. During 2011, SIG served 2,341 students, ages 4-18, in summer residential/commuter and day programs, as well as Saturday and afterschool programs.

In 2012, SIG will offer 88 courses in math, science, humanities, arts, and fitness and recreation fields. Residential/commuter campuses for 2012 will be Amherst College, Bryn Mawr College. Dartmouth College, Emory University, Princeton University, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UT Austin, Vassar College, and Yale University. Day programs will be held at Adelphi Academy (NY), Boston University Academy (MA), Bryn Mawr College (PA), Emory University (GA), Fairfield University (CT), Union Schools (CA), Hudson School (NJ), Independent Day School (FL), Manhattanville College (NY), the Overlake School (WA), Out-of-Door Academy (FL), Sandy Spring Friends School (MD), Sierra Canyon School (CA), Stuart Country Day School (NJ), and UT Austin.
