As you are experiencing, these are extraordinary times, particularly in the world of education. As you work through your remote versus hybrid scenarios, closures, and quarantine letters, here at CBK we are working through budgetary projections, test site closures, and program outlooks. This has become especially true following the closure of DukeTIP, which has had ripple effects across all talent development programs and Centers. Forecasting is tentative at best, and the future existence of all centers is at stake as we evaluate what kinds of options will continue to work for our families to support your kids’ needs while at the same time evaluating the ability to safely offer programming designed to bring people together. Simply said, we need your help.
We are continuing to investigate creative new options for programming to offer our families during this unique time. However, our need for support is more immediate given projected Talent Search issues. In this season of giving, we are asking for your help in getting us to next summer. We are hopeful that the pandemic will recede over time as we get into the new year. We know with quite a bit of confidence that we will get back to the things that we do best and that you hold dear – we just have to tread water in order to get there. As we have received so much appreciation for the things we do over the years, please note that we don’t run fundraisers despite being a nonprofit. And suddenly, we find ourselves needing to run this effort. This is a tricky request in light of the financial burdens we know many of you are also facing. Know that we don’t take this ask lightly. Any gift helps – from $25 to larger giving amounts.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help us move through the winter and cover anticipated losses.
