A genuine enthusiasm is an attitude that operates as an intellectual force.
John Dewey

We are very strong believers in the importance of not just talking about the thing, as is so often the case especially in accelerated environments, but in actually doing the thing. It is so important that kids feel experiences rather than just discuss them, that we live what we are learning about rather than just reading it, and that we explore concepts of accountability, self-actualization, empowerment, and responsibility in real-life action rather than in simulations and scenarios.

Learning is embedded as much as possible in the world itself here at Vector. You likely will recognize elements of Montessori, expeditionary education, and the autonomous learner model embedded throughout our philosophy and pedagogy.

Play is as much a part of the learning process as absorbing knowledge. Big kids need to physically engage as much as little kids do, and the education world has a tendency to forget this important element of growth. As much as our brains work hard, our hearts and bodies do as well – we believe in joyful learning!
